Posted by: Admin on: June 4, 2009

On June 2, the world’s largest video game conference will descend on Los Angeles for the 15th annual Electronic Entertainment Expo (”E3″ in gamer speak). While video games have done a lot of maturing in recent years to include non-traditional players, the show is still considered by many as “for gamers, by gamers.” In that sense, these are the known games that invoke a bevy of involuntary thumb twitches. SAN MATEO, CA – June 1, 2009 – DeviceAnywhere™, the global leader in end-to-end mobile application testing, test automation and monitoring and services for mobile application developers, today announced that it has successfully integrated and certified its mobile development platform into three major IBM software solutions including IBM Rational®, IBM Tivoli Netcool®, and IBM WebSphere®. As a result, organizations can access mobile development products offered by DeviceAnywhere while enabling DeviceAnywhere customers with additional capabilities from IBM’s suite of software and middleware solutions.

IBM Rational customers will now have remote access to more than 2000 real devices, available on over 30 carriers worldwide through the integrated IBM Rational Quality Manager and DeviceAnywhere solution.  IBM Rational Quality Manager is an industry leading test management platform that helps development and QA teams author and manage test assets.  The DeviceAnywhere integration enhances an organizations usage of IBM Rational Quality Manager by enabling the teams to centrally manage, execute and analyze test results for any of their traditional application development teams and now, with DeviceAnywhere, the mobile application development teams.

With the DeviceAnywhere Monitoring/Tivoli Netcool integration, mobile operator customers can add device monitoring tools to IBM Tivoli Netcool’s network management platform.  As a result, mobile operators can now monitor and test how their services are actually working on real devices attached to their network, all from within the IBM Tivoli Netcool platform.  This allows mobile operators to gain a clearer perspective of their customers’ experience at both the network and end-user level and to address problems in real-time.

Additionally, DeviceAnywhere has ported its DeviceAnywhere Consumer™ solution to IBM WebSphere. This means that DeviceAnywhere Consumer can be bundled with WebSphere for use in customer care environments where mobile phones form part of the consumer experience. DeviceAnywhere Consumer allows customer care representatives to interact with virtual mobile phones, so that they can “see” the issues being experienced by the customer and talk them through solutions.

“DeviceAnywhere’s technology is a natural extension to IBM’s middleware solutions, addressing the mobile developers’ growing need to automate, track, measure and speed the application testing process,” said Faraz Syed, Co-Founder and CEO of DeviceAnywhere. “Our full integration across IBM’s product set helps accelerate the mobile enterprise by ensuring that customers can rely and capitalize on DeviceAnywhere’s innovative features and benefits  as part of their existing and future investments in IBM.”

To learn more, visit DeviceAnywhere™ at IBM’s Rational Software Conference 2009.

May 31 – June 4, 2009 – Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort – Orlando, FL

The HTC Hero ROM in video

Posted by: Admin on: June 2, 2009

Here is a video of the HTC Hero ROM using a new version of Android. This OS is getting better by day and that together with news about some netbooks being shown in Computex using Android is leading me to think that Android could become a really big headache for Microsoft really soon.

General Motors files for bankruptcy protection

Posted by: Admin on: June 2, 2009

I am surprised to read this news on yahoo that General Motors files for bankruptcy protection, DAN STRUMPF and KIMBERLY S. JOHNSON, AP Auto Writers Dan Strump And Kimberly S. Johnson, [Ap Auto Writers] wrote on yahoo news that General Motors filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection Monday as part of the Obama administration’s plan to shrink the automaker to a sustainable size and give a majority ownership stake to the federal government.

gmceoGM’s bankruptcy filing is the fourth-largest in U.S. history and the largest for an industrial company. The company said it has $172.81 billion in debt and $82.29 billion in assets.

The fallen icon of American industrial might will rely on $30 billion of additional financial assistance from the Treasury Department as it reorganizes. That’s on top of about $20 billion in taxpayer money GM already has received in the form of low-interest loans.

GM will follow a similar course taken by Chrysler LLC, which filed for Chapter 11 protection in April and hopes to emerge from its government-sponsored bankruptcy this week. Continue reading »

Match the blocks to survive in this addictive twist on an arcade classic.

There are four key elements which can be grouped — Ice, Fire, Water and Earth — in this fast-paced arcade game that’s guaranteed to make you go Ele-mental.

  • Highly addictive gameplay
  • Pocket PC Magazine Best Software Awards

  • Bonus levels to boost score
  • Highscore table
  • High color backdrops
  • Great sound effects and music
  • Particle effects
  • 3 difficulty levels
  • Combos with rewarding speech and bonus points
  • Clock countdown at end of levels
  • Continues on gameplay to save starting at the beginning again

There are four key elements which can be grouped, Ice, Fire, Water and Earth, but there is a unique twist that really makes you think on your feet. Some elements have super strength and are highly reactive. These super elements can be used to convert one element to another. Used carefully you can take advantage of this in order to make larger groups, but be careful as mixing the wrong elements creates stone. Stone is non-reactive and can only be removed by combining with more stone.

To make matters worse some elements are so unstable they periodically change from one element to another as they break down. This makes things very unpredictable as the state of your game changes from one moment to the next.

Please always test demo to ensure compatibility with your device.

VR Hologram very similar to the wii Head Tracking VR demo made famous on youtube. Uses G-Sensor to track tilt and update the VR Hologram view accordingly. 3D Hologram created using Managed Direct 3D Mobile (MD3DM).

Default orientation of diamond for the app is laid flat due to how the G-Sensor reading are intepreted. Diamond laid flat facing up to have a view straight down.

Though this has no application for every day use @ the moment , this looks like a great feature to have on ones phone ( @ least for bragging right ) and over time more useful applications that is based on this will surface…

CabInstl – Install cab files to the location of your choice

Posted by: Admin on: September 25, 2008

This program is an installer for CAB files and allows to install PPC programs into the specified folder instead of that by default created by the standard installer.

If the folder is not specified, installation will be made into the default folder.
If the developer of the program being installed has firmly set the allocation of files in a CAB file – it will be used during the installation.
